Blabber on the Dodgers Series Wrap up

It looks like the Giants are pulling it back together!!

The Giants struggled with their first game of the series against the Dodgers. It's no doubt that the pitching for the team was back on track, the previously struggling Barry Zito pulled it back together allowing just one hit throughout the 5.5 innings he pitched. Unfortunately for Zito, his efforts were unrewarded, as it seemed our offense was unintrested in supporting their pitcher.

While yseterdays game pitched by Matt Cain was slow, we manged to win that one by 1 run. Matt Cain, having an excellent second half of the season. Cain pitched well last night, again, the game was basically a pitchers duel, this time against Chad Billingsly, who pitched, in my opinion, amazingly. Throughout the night, he managed to fool so many of the Giants' batters. In other words, he equally matched Matt Cain's pitching.  San Francico scored 2 runs last night, one during the 7th and one during the 8th. The tie that broke the scoreless game was knocked in by Fotenot who singled, sending Burriss the pinch runner who replaced the pinch hitter Travis Ishikawa who doubled during his previous at-bat. Fontenot himself ended up at first smling, though his glory was cut just a little bit second when he got caught stealing second and ending the inning.

The second run proved necessary at the end of the game. Short and sweet, Aubrey Huff scored on a fielders' choice. Sandoval still made it to first on an error. Brian Wilson made an appearance in the 9th inning to close the game. Though he gave up a homer to Eithier making the score 2-1, he still earned is 43 save of the season. DAMN IMPRESSIVE.

As for a quick wrap of the Red Sox last night, Clay Buchholz's pitching is also back on track. He won his start 5-1, recieving plenty of support from the offense throughout the entire game. The Red Sox, they just keep fighting. I feel like out of all the teams, them (and maybe the Mariners) play with their hearts, and no matter what happens, there'll always be an interesting game to watch so long as Boston is playing.

this is the exciting part!!
Tonight's game.
Holy Mackeral. Just to clarify, the game is going on as I write this, but dayum it's been one helluva game so far. So close to being in the play-offs, tonight they play an essential game and they're playing one of the they're best games this season. I just hope they don't build us up just to let us down.

Jonathan Sanchez is pitching and let's just say, there's only one word to describe this team tongiht: RALLY.

The game kicked off with us losing in the 1st. Let's just leave the details out of that one because quite honestly, there's nothing interesting going on there. The Giants tied the game at the bottom of the 1st, rebounding quickly. It was Aubrey Huff (who striked out last night to end the game and left 2 men stranded) who redeemed himself by tripling. A ball hit well out the right field. Buster Posey picked up the slack from there and doubled to the same places almost to score Aubrey Huff.

In the third, Aubrey Huff makes sure the fans know that he means buisness by homering to score himself, Edgar Renteria, and Freddy Sanchez.

But it dosen't stop there,  Buster Posey sends one into the stands right after. Wait WHAT!? Back to Back Home Runs?!
HELL YES!
score = 5-1

As if that's not enough, Freddy Sanchez and his good eye earns us a walk in the 4th to score a later hero, Jose Guillen.

The Dodgers cameback with a run in the 5th with a homer by Russ Mitchell, his first of the season to make the score 5-2.

But the Giants didn't even hesitate, they didn't falter they did nothing except for hit another homer.
Yes, the Giants came back against the Dodgers homer with a homer of their own by Jose Guillen, sending Pat Burrell and himself home.
at the bottom of the 5th, the score: 2-8 in favor of San Francisco.

While we felt pretty comfortable at 8-2, but we weren't quite satisfied -- at least not quite yet. Other than having a great eye, Freddy Sanchez has been on a HOT hitting streak. In the bottom of the 8th, he doubles to score Mike Fontenot and Edgar Renteria.

(10-2) San Francisco.

This might be a great time for the Giants to get settled in. The previously first place Padres lost today to the Cardinals 4-0. In other words, we came into this game today tied for first with the Padres.

Top of the 9th. Chris Ray comes in to save the game.
He strikes out the first, and the next two ground out to Ishikawa at first.

In an instance, the Giants are the NL WEST FIRST PLACE TEAM.

however, we can't get comfortable yet. This is our chance to take the lead, widen the gap as the Brewers come to town this weekend.

This is our chance to get into the play-offs.
This is a play-off team.
This is a reason to celebrate -- but get even more serious
(like how Matt Cain looks 24/7)

all I can say is, we've got what it takes to win.
i hope they don't let us down.
